We've already reviewed the Realme U1 (Review) in detail, and now it's time to pit the Realme X7 5G against the similarly priced Xiaomi Mi 8i (Review) and Mi MIX 2S (Review), and then face the ultimate challenger in the Realme U1.

Both devices have similar specifications, except for a few differences. The Realme U1 comes with a few features such as a waterdrop notch, a vertically stacked dual camera setup, and a light-refracting glass back. It also supports Link Turbo and includes a dedicated 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The device features a Snapdragon 660 SoC, an 8-megapixel selfie camera, and a 3730mAh battery with QuickCharge 4.0 support. The device comes in three color options such as Diamond Black, Glitter Gold, and Ice Blue, but the last two are exclusive to Amazon India, and not offered in the company’s home market of China.

The Xiaomi Mi 8i is the company’s new flagship offering in its Mi 8 series. It’s a slightly improved version of the Mi 8 that was launched back in May. Xiaomi recently launched a cheaper version of the Mi 8 called the Mi 8 SE in India. The smartphone has a big 6.21-inch display with a notch over the screen, and is powered by the Snapdragon 710 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It has a dual camera setup on the back, and a 20-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup on the front. It also has a 3,400mAh battery with support for QuickCharge 4.0. The Mi 8i also comes in four color options such as Black, White, and Pink. Realme U1 vs Xiaomi Mi 8i: Early Verdict As mentioned, both of these smartphones are priced well in China, but in India, it’s difficult to say which one would beat the other in terms of features and performance. The price difference between the two devices is also fairly huge, and would lead to most buyers opting for the Realme U1 instead of the Mi 8i. The Realme U1 has the advantage in terms of a 5,500mAh battery that can deliver decent battery life on a long-lasting smartphone. It also has support for QuickCharge 4.0 and includes a 3.5mm audio jack. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi 8i has a decent 3,400mAh battery, but doesn’t offer fast charging.
